Amazing, chilling wonderful relaxing place to stay

Pros: Everything, staff, breakfast, rooms, accommodation was much more than we expected. Was amazed when we drove up the drive and saw the place. would highly recommend

Cons: Nothing, there was absolutely nothing we could say we didn't like

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location with friendly and helpful staff.

Pros: The staff were really friendly and accommodating. I had to change the date of my trip due to bad weather causing the cancellation of my ferry. The building was gorgeous and the room was very comfortable.

Cons: The breakfast was pretty limited, especially for a vegan. The tv in the room didn't work.

Pros: Breakfast was good. Well spaced tables. Would prefer a pot of coffee rather than trying to figure out how another machine works while people are waiting

Cons: Check in could be a bit better. The room I was allocated by the booking .com check in was not the room we were given. We were allocated a room to the front overlooking the sea by booking and when we got there we were given a room to the rear. The room itself was spacious , lovely bathroom and a comfortable bed. A very pleasant stay

Good location. Friendly staff. Historic building. Comfortable. Some details could have been better.

Pros: Good location for our needs and for accessing anywhere on Islay. Friendly staff. Very interesting historic building. Comfortable room. Amazing bathroom with underfloor heating, twin basins and free standing bath.

Cons: Some details could have been better - no entrance signs, heating in our room didn't work so we had portable heaters, breakfast was good but don't want porridge and cooked meal served at the same time, don't like having to make tea with coffee machines (kettle is better!). Would have been good if dinner had been available.

Pros: Beautiful ,looked very impressive .cosy ,nice and quiet.

Cons: No bar or restaurant ,however we were aware of this ,,hopefully in the further there will be , I believe new ownership only 12/12 months ago ,and they have done marvellous up to now ,.lovely people and staff are so so helpful . Just a suggestion ,a grab rail in the shower and bath and and shower mat for both also ,for health and safety ,purposes,.

Comfortable stay at a decent price.

Pros: Comfortable bed, fabulous roll top bath, excellent location, well stocked bar. Staff nice but very few!

Cons: Our room was a bit cold but there was a plug in radiator. Would have liked option of dinner. Hotel a bit run down. Upgrade is planned though! Breakfast options limited.

A perfect Scottish house- warm, comfortable and historic. We lived like lairds!

Pros: Beautiful old listed building. Comfortable, very cosy, bedroom with fabulous bed and marble en-suite bathroom. Staff friendly and helpful. Our dog was welcomed and we had a fantastic breakfast.

Cons: The building needs some external maintenance but this just added character.

Amazing stay!!!

Pros: Superb property with lots of history beautifully restored! Nice bar and Extremely friendly staff. Very good Scottish breakfast!

Pros: The facilities, especially the bar area was amazing the room was very clean and designed very well. Room looked out onto the sea and grounds, peaceful and quiet atmosphere, will definitely be booking again soon.

Cons: Breakfast options were great, however the egg, although runny, could’ve been cooked for a further few minutes and the bacon a few minutes less. Would’ve loved the option for a proper cappuccino also as the Nescafé machines aren’t great.

Best accommodation in Islay

Pros: Very nice hotel, cozy well equipped rooms. The view in the morning is breathtaking. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, staff is very friendly and professional.
