We were very happy with our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.
Pros: Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. The location of the hotel was very convenient. I thought the pricing was very reasonable.
Cons: I can't think of anything.

Pros: Beautiful location, friendly staff, local cuisine, ales and whiskies.
Cons: Nothing tbh. Typical highland type hotel in a great location. Its not the Ritz, a bit dated but that adds to the quirkyness! Loved it and would stay again without hesitation!

Pros: All the staff was so kind with us ! The location of this hotel is perfect to enjoy nature and thus staff and travellers provide a very pleasant atmosphere. In addition, they serve good food, provide fuel and most of what travellers need. Thanks to the staff !
Cons: The hotel needs maintenance; the heater was out of order in our room

Great starting base for exploring Islay in family
Pros: The view on the sea, Paps of Jura and the ferry terminal, the friendliness of the staff and the cozy ambiance (and very nice soup!) in the restaurant, the variety of scottish breakfast options. Spacious bathroom with bathtub to relax as a family.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit cold and we discovered only later that there is a manual electrical heating for it we could have used. The hotel comes from a certain epoch, so afficionados of white, anonymous, modern hotels will be disappointed: however, if you like an authentic experience of scottish hospitality, you'll have a great moment!

Port Askaig affordable Islay accommodation
Pros: Warm welcome and lovely single room with unsuited. Located on harbour and ferry arrival so very handy. Small shop and fuel available. Beautiful bar area with wood fire.
Cons: It was being renovated and some areas were a bit shabby. Understandably.

A fun place to stay.
Pros: Our room was comfortable. The hotel was old and full of character. Our host, Marian, was very helpful and welcoming. The food was good and freshly cooked. The atmosphere in the pub bar was great. Very handy for a trip to Jura.
Cons: The hotel and decor was rather tired and worn looking.

A lovely place to stay with good food and location.
Pros: Very good breakfast and evening meals. The atmosphere in the bar was very convivial in the evening. Interesting location by the Sound and harbour/port. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The bathroom could do with a bit of work; the expelair fan didn't work and the tap didn't turn off properly. The WiFi was a bit intermittent, so watching the TV (iPlayer etc.., there was no live TV) was annoying at times. These were minor niggles that wouldn't stop us staying there again.
