Coachmans Bothy - 50m from the beach

The Coachman’s Bothy was a real retreat, clean and cosy, in an absolutely stunning location.

It is a lovely idyllic place to stay

Pros: The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. The private parking was a bonus. The views were spectacular. It was a great base for exploring the surroundings, and after a long day of walking, the beds were very comfortable to relax into. Would definitely recommend.

Pros: Best holiday rental we’ve ever stayed in; this is the place to come to totally relax and unplug from the hustle & bustle. Pierhouse Hotel around the corner serves incredible seafood: if you follow the path at the end of the lane leading into the house, it’ll take you around the coast and finish at the Pierhouse - this find was a highlight of our trip. We loved it and would love to come back

Pros: The place is very quiet from city noise. Green around, there was a sea view. Kitchen with everything what we needed to prepare our food. Cleaning produkts enough for out time there. Very clean, tidy and cosy place.

Cosy stay in a beautiful, peaceful location.

Pros: A peaceful, beautiful location with a lovely view of the bay from the lounge. The cottage was well equipped, especially the kitchen. It was cosy and warm in the living room but we needed the extra electric heater on as well as the storage heater, as the weather was very cold during our stay. Importantly, the beds were very comfortable. It was great to be able to walk to the local shop and the amazing seafood restaurant - The Pierhouse Hotel.

Cons: Due to the time of year, it was very cold and it was a little chilly in the bedrooms, with just an electric fan heater - not a problem during the night with lots of extra blankets, electric blanket and a cosy duvet, but it made it a bit chilly getting up until the heater had got going.

Booked at short notice and an excellent base to reacquaint ourselves with our former home area.

Pros: I appreciated the personal and welcoming contact from owner by email. Excellent location , warm base in inclement weather, attractive, comfortable bedroom. On the whole very well equipped, kitchen had comprehensive range of crockery and utensils. Lovely peaceful setting, beautiful view, attractive courtyard, convenient parking. Very helpful, friendly and accommodating staff - top marks to everyone.

Cons: Please do not view comments as any kind of complaint just suggestions and observations from years of self catering experience here and abroad. Think the main living area is a bit dated and tired with inadequate lighting - ambient and reading lights. It is quite a small room for large 3 piece suite which is not overly comfortable anyway. Kitchen ceiling light not functional due to electrical problem, I believe. Very grateful to cleaner for promptly producing temporary desk light otherwise would have been difficult to work in kitchen. Bathroom shower cubicle would benefit from upgrade, and lingering stale smell ( like old cabbage water) in bathroom which I put down to the plumbing system? Spotlessly clean, I should emphasize.

Pros: Ein Willkommensgeschenk erwartete uns. Die Wohnung liegt sehr ruhig. Die Betten waren bequem. Wir haben gut geschlafen. Die Aussicht aufs Fjord ist schön. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut eingerichtet. Es hat nebst der Badewanne auch eine Duschkabine. Die Zimmer sind z.T. mit antiken schönen Möbeln bestückt. Der Vermieter war sofort da und hilfsbereit, als wir eine Frage hatten. Er gab uns auch Tipps für Ausflüge. Eine schöne Gegend. Das WLAN funktionierte einwandfrei.

Cons: Die Wohnung befindet sich im 1. Stock ohne Aussenbereich. Es gibt keinen Zugang (oder wir haben keinen gefunden) zum Meer, obwohl es so nahe ist. Die Küche/der Wohnraum fallen kleiner aus als auf den Fotos. z.T. etwas in die Jahre gekommen, deshalb preislich etwas hoch.

Pros: schöne Lage, gepflegter Garten grosszügige Räumlichkeiten und Betten unkomplizierte Schlüsselübergabe und Information Früchte etc.

Cons: kein privater Aussenraum (Balkon, Terrasse etc.) bei dieser schönen Lage (die Wohnung unten hatte Gartensitzplatz) kalt bei Anreise, war deshalb etwas \
