One Devonshire Gardens a Hotel Du Vin

A perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Pros: The staff were excellent: friendly and helpful; we we made feel very special. Our room was beautiful and luxurious. Our bed was huge and extremely comfortable.

Perfect

Pros: It was stunning - high ceilings, sweeping staircases, stained glass windows. The whole place was simply beautiful.

Cons: We stayed on a Tuesday night so it was cheaper than if we stayed at the weekend - not sure we could afford otherwise!

Comfortable and Bright!

Pros: Staff were welcoming, pleasant, friendly and professional. Checking in and out was straightforward and speedy. Room was lovely- spacious and very clean. Coffee, tea and chocolate biscuits (Tunnock’s Carmel Wafers)were good quality. Had direct access to a patio. Comfortable bed and seating. Lovely L’Occitaine toiletries. Fast WiFi. Nicely cooked breakfast- I requested hard poached eggs and these were cooked to perfection for me!

Cons: For us the room was very bright and impacted on our quality of sleep as there was a security light outside our window (not sure if it belonged to hotel or a neighbour) which was on all night; this was compounded by the fact that there was a large gap at the side of the curtains. Obviously this would only be a problem for people who need a very dark room to sleep, unfortunately we are those people! A larger choice in the buffet selection at breakfast would be nice. Another personal choice- for me a Scottish breakfast should have a ‘tattie scone’ on it!!

Great stay, bit awkward if not with a partner

Pros: Beautiful hotel, spacious, luxurious feeling. Friendly and helpful staff, lots of little extras in the room (chocolates, hand cream, nice teas and coffees), love the robes, and the bed was incredibly comfy. We accepted the upgrade to a junior suite for 2 nights.

Cons: I've stayed here twice, once with my best friend and now with my mum, and not having a proper door or any acoustic protection around the toilet is just really uncomfortable for everyone involved. You can also see inside the glass shower door from at least half the room. Don't really see why it needs to be that way! Also, the meal in the restaurant was 'ok'.

Pros: Beautiful period building with corresponding interior. The room was amazing, luxurious but also comfortable

Wonderful and will return

Pros: Everything staff were so helpful and kind, we had two old English sheepdogs with us too x they made every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable for us all thank you so much - will definitely revisit

Cons: Nothing - perfect x

Solo traveller

Pros: The hotel is beautiful the staff amazing. I was staying by myself and never once fell out of place, everyone so friendly. Loved the room so spacious and the pillows out of this world.

Awesome stay, with first class service and food.

Pros: Very warm and comfortable hotel which made me feel very welcome

Cons: It could probably do with a bit of an update but this does add to the character

Pros: Loved this place. Never been before and don’t know why. Felt like a real treat! Staff were great too and very friendly.
