Ideal base for Edinburgh City break

Pros: Friendly helpful staff. Ideal location conveniently situated for transport. Clean and pleasant room with modern ensuite facilities. Food excellent and good service in pleasant surroundings.

Cons: Dinner menu could perhaps be more extensive

Pros: Really nice and pleasant hotel bus stop just around the corner from the hotel takes you straight to Edinburgh centre or a pleasant walk

A great stay overall with a spacious family room, fantastic location, friendly staff and good breakfast

Pros: We had a great stay - The large family room was perfect for 2 adults and 2 children, and we really appreciated the single bed setup. Fantastic location with a bus stop outside and a tram stop nearby. Friendly staff, good breakfast, and the hot toddy at the bar is a must-try. Would definitely recommend!

Cons: The beds were quite hard

Great price and location

Pros: Great price for room and location. Although not in the city centre, there are regular buses (every 10 mins) that take you into the city centre which was really handy. This only took 15 mins in rush hour or you can walk into the centre by following the river. We did this one morning and it was a lovely walk. We booked the smallest room and it was still a really good size. Bar/ restaurant is handy. Staff all really nice.

Pros: Beautiful, spacious room in a glorious period property. Staff attentive and very friendly, couldn’t fault.

Good hotel in good location

Pros: Very good sized room and large bed. Easy access to city centre and easy to get to hotel from North direction as didn't have to drive through city. Easy parking. Good breakfast. Friendly staff

Cons: Room was great but was on the front so there was traffic noise

All in all, great place to stay, warm, friendly and comfortable.

Pros: We were there for the rugby, excellent in every way. Staff are amazing, food is good, room very comfortable

Cons: Breakfast was a bit overcooked. Very busy weekend so didn’t like to comply but personally I wouldn’t have served it. I paid £15 for two rashers of pretty crispy bacon and half an overcooked tomato!

Great hotel, staff friendly and excellent location for Murrayfield!

Pros: Great location for the Rugby and 10 mins in a taxi to the city centre. The newly refurbished luxe double rooms are lovely. Staff very friendly.

Cons: Prices hiked for the rugby and six nations! But every hotel in Edinburgh does it.
