Pros: The main strength of the Douglas is its staff. Attentive while not intrusive. Clearly hard working and aiming to give us a lovely experience. We ate in the bistro and the young woman and young man could not have done more. Wonderful. NB: the view must be one of best in the world - with snow on the peaks - breathtaking!

Cons: Pillows - a personal bête noir, but they were so unforgiving. Bed was lovely though. Also, in room 106 we were near a kitchen or work area and there was constant mechanical hum through the night. Again personal to me. My wife slept very well.

Cosy comfortable stay. Reception staff great.

Pros: Very comfy beds, warm rooms. Room 208 was great - lovely and quiet, no noise disturbance from other rooms.

Fabulous in Every Way!

Pros: We absolutely loved The Douglas Hotel. Exceptional service, the rooms were fabulous, loved the bath after a long cold day, the Bistro food was delicious. We wish we had booked for longer. The icing on the cake was Douglas the Duck!

Beautiful hotel with outstanding staff and service!

Pros: The service we received from the moment we arrived was outstanding. The staff were all so friendly and helpful during our stay. Extra effort was so made to make our dog feel special, which was a really lovely touch. Massive thanks to the staff for making our stay so happy.

An Exceptional Stay.

Pros: From the moment we arrived to the the minute we left, the service was exemplary. We have stayed in many good hotels on our travels & this one rates as one of the best. On our last day, due to the weather, the ferries were not sailing but we were lucky enough to get an extra night! This was such a bonus & it was cheaper to boot!

Cons: There wasn't anything at the hotel that disappointed us. We were two very happy residents. Thank You.

Perfect Stay

Pros: From first arriving until leaving, The Douglas Hotel was a joy - all staff very friendly, professional and engaging, received a room upgrade - always nice - and room was huge, very warm and bed extremely comfortable. Had breakfast plus both evening meals in hotel during stay - food delicious and excellent sized portions. For a location, an ideal relaxing break plus time to unwind - would thoroughly recommend The Douglas !!!!
