Blackwater Hostel

Pros: Clear instructions, clean, comfortable, good location and reasonable price.

Pros: The facilities are very good. The kitchen/lounge has everything you need and is very clean.The staff are very helpful.

Pros: The receptionist was so friendly and helpful and obviously loved her job and dealing with weary (and very wet) Highland Way walkers. It was a pleasure to be greeted so warmly. Your kitchen set up was great also.

Cons: Honestly cannot think of anything.

Lovely local hostel, would stay again

Pros: Lovely energy in this hostel. Very well stocked kitchen, very warm and spacious rooms. Comfy beds!

Cons: There was a quite bit of hair on our clean bedsheets - we got them swapped with a helpful member of staff immediately. The water pressure was good but the temperature was a little temperamental.

Pros: Very clean cozy, and comfortable. Functional, immaculate kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Very pretty location.

Cons: We arrived late and didn’t have any towels.

Great for walkers

Pros: The room was good for walkers and was nice to have our own shower and television. The location is good as amenities are close to hand Beds were comfortable after along walk.

A very pleasant and economical stay

Pros: The Blackwater Hostel felt as though it was at the top end of what you'd expect from a hostel. The kitchen facilities were very good and if you wanted to prepare all of your own meals that would be easy. The kitchen had all of the equipment you could need and there was a Coop Store in the village to buy your food. Also, there was a supply of things like flour and milk and quite a few other things that other guests had left. This was very handy when we were preparing our food.

Cons: There was nothing that fell below our expectations.

Pros: A good hostel/camping/pods on the West highland way. Good kitchen and services. Friendly staff.

Great place with fab staff

Pros: Perfectly placed for the WHW. Camped but the shower facilities etc were great and the bistro was also really good. Staff, particularly Will, were amazing and went out of their way to be helpful when the midges attacked our tents.

Cons: Midges are horrendous
