Crianlarich Youth Hostel

A very friendly comfortable and spacious hostel.

Pros: I was very relieved to find that there was not a single dog in sight but just a large group of students - the latter I expected but I was shocked to find there may be dogs about. a terrific welcome by the receptionist and lovely relaxed atmosphere in the kitchen which was very well stocked. Clean, comfortable and perfect location - would love to have time to walk from the hostel.

Cons: Given that there were no dogs I have no criticism - but as I really do not relax around dogs, I would never have booked the place had I known upon booking - so I feel this should have been clearer in the beginning part of the booking process. It popped up much later. I could have cancelled at that point but chose not too and so very glad I did not because the location was perfect for our journey.

Pros: Nice fully stacked kitchen, nice area with couches to hang out. Free tea and coffee. Rooms a nice and spacious. There is a little supermarket around the corner. Staff is nice and helpful

Excellent youth hostel.

Pros: Good showers, good facilities for cooking, shed for storage of bikes, nice communal area to dine in.

Cons: Woken up during night by inconsiderate noisy backpackers slamming doors at 2-3am. Should also mention the green light on 24hrs in our room, this could have been dimmer but still functional. Obviously there to illuminate fire exit but too bright.

It was a very good experience at a hostel.

Pros: The room was very spacious and very clean. Bathrooms were good enough with hot water... Bathrooms were clean. Staff had very good knowledge about the transportation facilities around.... The kitchen was very accessible and very tidy with all the essential utensils to cook and serve. Very beautiful location.

Pros: I liked that the room had a large bed in it, as well as a bunk bed. Having a bathroom in the room was a plus too!

Crianlarich Youth Hostel, a hikers reliable foothold

Pros: Common rooms are very inviting (besides good sleeping rooms also, of course)

Cons: Lighting outside could be somewhat better: Arrived late and parked (tight: last space) and had to somewhat “feel“ my way to the entrance. No biggie, but amendable. No real complain!

Pros: Very helpful and friendly staff. We enjoyed bird feeder view from our window.

Cons: Walls are thin, remember to bring ear plugs! Beds are a little uncomfy but good for one night.

Definitely a must if your doing the WHY

Pros: Beautiful location. Just off the WHY by about a mile but will worth it

Cons: Had a huge private room for four loads of space. Fantastic and well needed drying room!!!

Met all of my needs at a budget price during peak season.

Pros: Nice, large communal area/eating space. Communal kitchen facilities were good. Nice seating area near front door. Shared Toilet/Shower room separate ones for female and male. Bunk beds were comfy enough in shared 6 female dormitory/room. Drying room was handy for swimming stuff. Hire of towels are available.

Cons: On-suite toilet.
