West Highland Lodge

I’m so glad we stayed and would recommend Highland Lodge to friends.

Pros: It was lovely and clean … it exceeded my expectations because some of the reviews I read… found them to be inaccurate. Lovely cosy lounge and well equipped kitchen. The beds were surprisingly comfortable.

Cons: The only slight neg thing would be the showers . Found them to be quite small and tight but there was hot water so can’t complain. I

Pros: Great common area, was lovely to sit on a lounge after a big days hiking

Cons: The property can’t control it but a group of about 20 people arrived at midnight and left at 4am but sounded like a herd of elephants both times

6 of us stayed overnight, 3 ladies; 3 boys and it did the business for us

Pros: Picked the keys up at Blackwater Lodge nice and easy, was meet by a very friendly member of staff who explained the set up.

It’s a good hostel.

Pros: Location was superb. Kitchen facilities very good.checking in was clear and precise.

Cons: Mattresses on beds could be a lot better.

Pros: It was really clean. The staff was friendly. In the kitchen you have everything you need.

Pros: Lovely view from the room. The kitchen was very well equipped.

Cons: One of the two showers in ladies bathroom was not working so there were queues for the showers.

Pros: In the context of hostel style accommodation, this was good. Stunning view from the room. Comfy, warm, clean. Friendly atmosphere.

Cons: The lodge is not staffed (staff at hostel 10 min walk away). No problem for our group at all but just to consider.

Pros: The accommodation is well-equipped, the bathroom facilities are clean, the kitchen is well-stocked, and the common room is comfortable. Restaurant és shop very closely, less than 500 meters

Cons: A washing machine and dryer would have been useful

Pros: We stayed here for one night during WHW. The accommodation was comfortable, towels for a small fee. The shower was comfortable and the water ran hot. Nothing to complain about. The kitchen was really well equipped. The lady owner was great and gave us a restaurant recommendation.

Good self-catering option for a good night's rest in Kinlochleven

Pros: Clean and comfy. My room had a great view. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Loved the midgie screen so I could open the window!

Cons: The pillow was about as thin as a tea cosy. It was the only thing I didn't like. Fortunately, I was able to use a pillow from one of the other beds as well.
