Thistle House Guest House

Situated in a scenic wooded garden, Thistle House Guest House overlooks Loch Fyne to Inveraray and its famous castle. Free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking are provided in this spacious Victorian country house. Views of Loch Fyne or the garden are featured in each room at Thistle House, as well as a flat-screen TV, en suite bathroom and a hospitality tray. Rooms are individually named after local clans of the surrounding west coast of Scotland. A full Scottish breakfast is served in the dining room, which overlooks the loch and Inveraray. Lighter options are also available and all produce is locally sourced. Guests can also relax in the lounge which features a log fire, and a selection of books and information on the local area. The town of Inveraray is just a 25-minute drive and features an 18th-century castle and a Maritime Heritage Museum. Quad biking, archery and clay shooting can be enjoyed in Blairmore, which is just under 40 minutes by car.

Amazing stay on Loch Fyne

Pros: We love absolutely everything! Breakfast had many options and was delicious. They also offer Vegan alternatives! The recommendations to have dinner nearby were great! The building and rooms are authentically decorated and there is plenty of space to chill with your friends and family in front of the fire after a nice day. The rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had good pressure and the room was comfortable and warm on a chilly evening. The hosts, Sue and Avril were fantastic. They are beyond any expectations and made us feel welcome, with love and care for the little details and outstanding customer service. We will definitely come back! The location is perfect if you are looking for nice views and quiet surroundings.

Excellent guesthouse not to be missed!

Pros: The B&B was a beautiful building with an impressive view of the loch. The room was lovely. The owner kindly got us a Chinese takeaway from a nearby town as the pub we were going go to (as recommended by the owner) sadly was closed to walking as there was a wake. Bicycles were securely packed away in the owners garage. Breakfast was excellent. I had a full Scottish and my wife Jo salmon.

Cons: The shaver socket did not work (in the bathroom) and a socket in the dining room for charging my iPhone. However easily remedied by using other sockets.

Stunning property, amazing views and attention to details was second to none.

Pros: This property was absolutely stunning, beautiful layout and the rooms were gorgeous, well furnished and very clean and comfortable

Cons: The attention to detail was on the next level, there wasn’t anything that had been forgotten. We didn’t want for anything and our hostesses were just amazing

Beutiful views and top service

Pros: Beautiful house and surroundings with a spectacular view. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We had a king size room with a fantastic bed and sheets. A wonderful touch was the hot water bottle alongside the requested extra blanket. The breakfast had plenty of options to cater to different tastes, as well as options for vegetarian and vegan.

Pros: Despite the short stay, we felt truly pampered in a stunning lakeside setting, at a guesthouse where every detail is carefully taken care of. If we have the chance, we will definitely return for a longer stay
