Pros: Comfortable room, very friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable price.
Cons: The room was a little cold - in contrast to the pub/restaurant side of the hotel. Suggest extend the central heating to the whole property if at all possible!

Excellent value, very comfortable, lovely staff! Highly recommend.
Pros: The Gordon Arms is a perfect place for a comfortable, cosy stay - not far from Edinburgh. It's set in the charming town of West Linton (replete with a well-stocked Co-op), and we found both the staff and town to be very welcoming during our stay. The room was large, clean, and comfortable; with a big, cosy bed and a simple-but well-kept en-suite. The staff were fab, and the pub downstairs was buzzing in the evening. We especially felt as though it was excellent value for money.
Cons: The car-parking outside can be a little tricky: you have to make a very sharp turn off a fairly fast road into a slightly awkward, angular car-park. It didn't end up being too much of an issue, but if it got too busy, I could imagine it would be a problem.

A good place to pause.
Pros: Great location on my walking route, which was why I chose it. Friendly, helpful staff and a large comfortable room. A nice atmosphere in the bar and a relaxing place to stay. It has a reputation as being a good place to eat but, by sheer bad luck, I stayed when the chef was on holiday. However, the pre-prepared pizza available was great.
Cons: It's a pub and it was a Friday night. (I've done this before *sigh*) Some people never sleep... and had clearly decided that the best place to chat was under my window. Not the fault of the Gordon Arms, perhaps, but maybe they could find a way?

Nice place for a short stay with excellent restaurant
Pros: Food could not be faulted. Comfortable rooms. Village is charming
Cons: Car park is small and an odd shape due to constraints of the location on a triangular piece of land on the edge of the of a hill. Not the hotels fault, but something to be aware of.

Wonderful stay, made all the more special by its fantastic staff members. Great Scottish hospitality.
Pros: The bar and restaurant were traditional and the menu excellent. The room was large and comfortable. The manager Amy was a guardian angel that day as I had gotten into some trouble with my car that would have meant my journey could not have continued and would have ruined a family holiday but she was quick thinking, went out of her way and helped me out of a terrible situation. All the staff were supportive and friendly. Really exceptional place.
