Barns Tower

Pros: Who doesn't want to be king of their own castle for a few days?! An unforgettable place to stay in a quite magical location. Many thanks to all the team at Barns tower for creating somewhere so special.

Pros: I have never stayed anywhere as incredible as this. From the minute we pulled up, the setting, the area around the tower... stunning. I could not believe how amazing this place is. I couldn't describe how much of a step back in time it felt walking through the iron keep gate into the bottom of the tower. We explored each room in excitement waiting to see what was behind each door. The bedroom is absolutely stunning to the point where i woke up in the night and had to remind myself where im staying. The tower was beautifully presented and tastefully laid out with some modern amenities in the event that your stuck in for the day with bad weather. We enjoyed reading and exploring the walk along the majestic river Tweed into Peebles where we enjoyed a delicious meal at Coltmans. I cannot wait to go back. Not just a stay but an experience.

Wonderful holiday in a beautiful, historic tower.

Pros: Barns Tower is beautiful. Staying here is like stepping back in time. Everything you could possibly need has been thought of.

Cons: Nothing. It was perfect.

Pros: Absolutely whismical stay, enchating house along the River Tweed. Spent my time on the grounds, baking cakes, and watching movies by the roaring fires. Loved it, and will be back again!

One of the best and most memorable short stays ever.

Pros: Barns Tower is historically fascinating and delightfully quirky. Very warm, comfortable and restored to the very highest standard. We enjoyed being able to stay in such an ancient, historic building with the added attraction of being in beautiful surroundings. The countryside is lovely and Peebles is a pretty town with some lovely walking and other attractions locally. It is difficult to overstate how much we enjoyed our time here, it really was exceptional. We were very fortunate to meet Lulu (who gave us a tour of Neidpath Castle) and Sandy who made us feel so very welcome.

Cons: Only very tiny things ... a washing up bowl would have been nice and a more secure dish-drainer. It also took a while to work out which light switches did what!

Quaint and quirky but cold

Pros: Beautiful tower in a lovely location. Nice little welcome pack left for us too. Peebles is a lovely town with lots to see and do. Walk along the river highly recommend.

Cons: Tower was so cold. When we arrived it was dark and only half the heaters were on. We got all the radiators on but it took 3 days for the building to warm up properly. Additional bedding, portable heater etc would have been good. We did request blankets the following day and were given two. Log fire in lounge blew back a lot of smoke into the room. Clothes smell heavily of smoke and it stung our eyes.

Excellent historical building. Very interesting. We loved it.
