Barns Bothy

Perfect retreat!

Pros: What is there not to love about Barns Bothy. It is stunning - just like a Bothy but with all mod cons and beautifully decorated with everything you need for a perfect getaway.

Cons: There is nothing not like.

Barns Bothy

Pros: Staff were excellent, had an issue with heating, and contacted the property manager. The plumber was there in 20mins. fixed issue. Great service.

Perfect cosy cottage on the Tweed Walk

Pros: Lovely cosy cottage, compact but perfect. Kitchen had everything we needed with a bonus of extra provisions

Great place for a tranquil break.

Pros: Ronseal - did exactly as it said it would. Lovely location, close to Peebles with tranquil, slow-paced seclusion. The property had everything one could have wished for. We especially appreciated the ‘Welcone!’ pack of groceries that saw us through our initial stay. Lovely safe areas of woodland on the doorstep to walk our dog. Really nice place to come for a relaxing visit.

Cons: The driveway is a graded earth drive which, after the unusually persistent rainfalls had quite a few potholes. Nothing else at all to mention.

Lovely relaxing 3 night break in a great quiet rural location. 3.5 mile walk to Peebles along the river which was liveky

Pros: Beautiful, quiet, everything you needed and great walks. Fire was really cozy, bed very comfortable and just a lovely break

The one bedroom Bothy was a lovely cosy short stay , the log burner was amazing on the frosty evenin

Pros: Everything was catered for on arrival, eggs, milk, preserves, butter and fruit. The log burner with a supply of logs made the stay even better on such cold nights in December.

Cons: Our only issue was that there were quite a few cobwebs throughout the Bothy.

A cosy and very memorable stay in a gorgeous property! Would definitely stay again!

Pros: Location was brilliant, the staff were very helpful and easy to get a hold of if we needed anything, the breakfast hamper was a very lovely touch and very much appreciated! Gorgeous property and grounds!

Cons: The code for the lock box wasn’t given to us and it wasn’t until later I noticed it said in the emails in small writing that we had to email our details to receive it - this should be given in the welcome email before arrival. The mattress was a bit hard (but that’s just our preference). It would have been helpful to note somewhere on the fire instructions about which button to press to allow the smoke to escape as it came billowing out of the fire and we had to phone and ask which button was the correct one. Some areas in the property could do with a little touch up of paint - but overall an amazing stay in an amazing property!

Great place to stay.

Pros: Lovely comfortable quiet place. Really clean, the welcome pack was a nice surprise. Having a log burner was lovely, but we never needed to use it.

Cons: Struggled to find somewhere to dry my hair so had to do it in the kitchen. It’s no massive problem, I just had to check I hadn’t left stray hairs on worktops.

Cosy cottage in beautiful quiet surroundings

Pros: We booked the Barns Bothy Cottage for 7 days. The cottage was very cosy and furnished to a high standard. The kitchen, sleeping area (under the roof), living area and also the bathroom were just ideal. Thank you very much for the nice welcome goodies. The key safe also worked very well. The area is very quiet and beautiful. We were able to park our car in a driveway right in front of the house. From the house you can walk a beautiful path to Peebles. In any case, Peebles is a very nice little place where you can spend some time and also get everything you need. From Peebles we took the bus to Edinburgh. That was no problem. Other excursion destinations were also easy to reach from our cottage. We would particularly recommend Traquair House. All in all, we had a wonderful vacation in Barns Bothy and have nothing to complain about. We would definitely come back.
