Black Stair Room - En Suite

Immaculate and well located

Pros: Clean, comfortable and well located. This my third stay and it's a perfect place for me to stay while working in the area.

Thoroughly relaxing stay !

Pros: A thoroughly relaxing place to stay ! Warm , comfy and in a quiet location but still within easy walking distance of the town and seafront . Some nice touches inside . I loved the door that opens half way across like a stable . Well thought out decor , the dragonfly curtains and highland cattle pattern on the beds create a homely feel . The fruit teas were very welcome too . I live on a main road so the quiet area was most welcome , all I heard at night was a distant owl , which is a comforting sound .Helensburgh with it's many landmarks , wonderful views and laid back folk is an absolute joy . Brilliant ! 😊

Short stay

Pros: I asked for an early check-in ( as our journey was quicker than expected), and the lady I saw on our arrival was very accommodating and polite. Nice little touches as well, i.e., assortment of tea bags and snacks, etc. Thank you 😊

Met our needs.central location in a quiet street Perfect for our bikes and the start of the John Muir Way

Pros: Thought of everything we might need. Appreciated all the touches such as the wide range of toiletries, beverages, Tunnocks and especially the hot water bottles. Great restaurant recommendation. Thank you. Secure place to lock our bikes.

A good night's stay

Pros: Great communication and advice re restaurants etc. Fresh milk, biscuits etc all available Creative use of very small space, ie small but perfectly formed! Good value

Cons: Outside spiral staircase might be an issue in cold and wet.

Pros: The location of this accommodation was beautiful. The owner was in site and very helpful. Facilities basic but good.

Cons: Smaller than expected but suitable for a single person

Pros: good little room with en-suite and tea/coffee facilities. nice quiet location. never met the hosts, but because everything went smoothly, that's a good thing. this was out 3rd stay and probably not our last.

Cons: wi-fi slow and not many tv channels. in the grand scheme of things not the end of the world.

Good hosts, well kept accommodation, easy to find and access.

Pros: Great communication. Cute and charming space. Quiet, and safe secure feeling. Nicely appointed bathroom. Comfortable beds.

Cons: A few v minor issues - Food prep area is very very minimal - tricky to find space to even make up a sandwich. Bedding was just enough, but the option of a blanket would’ve been welcome. Bath is a welcome facility, but it seemed unlikely that sufficient hot water was available. Tap ran a good time but only warm water arrived. Shower was very good, though.

Pros: Very easy to book and local, last minute panic as up visiting my dad in the care home who was dying I loved the dragonfly curtains which was a nice touch for me considering the reason I was staying there (a spiritual meaning of loved ones being near)

Cons: The only disadvantage was there wasn't a socket to charge mobiles at your bedside but there was still a socket to charge phones so no major problem, small ,compact but a lovely wee flat, single beds unfortunately as I'm used to a double bed but practical for the business and other guests
