Very good value for money

Pros: The tastefully pleasant room, which was across the road from the main house, was clean, comfortable and amply spacious. Well supplied with tea and coffee, plenty of plug sockets and blackout curtains. Relatively quiet street for traffic noise.

Cons: I should have checked the location prior to booking as I personally found it a little bit too far out of the area I wanted to be near (Waverley)

Good location and nice staff

Pros: The location was good, about 20 minutes by foot to the city Centre. It was in a safe neighborhood with lots of shops nearby. The staff was nice and they lent us adaptors since ours didn't work. There were amenities, including an electric kettle and tea. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the room was warm.

Cons: The room wasn't very clean and the bedsheets had some stains on them.

Pros: We had a really lovely stay at Balmore Guest House in Edinburgh. We booked a family room and it was a good size, so we didn’t feel cramped at all. The bathroom had been renovated, was very clean and looked modern and nice, which made a big difference. The price for our stay was very reasonable, especially considering the location. And the best part was how close it is to the city centre – we could easily walk everywhere, which made our trip so much easier. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a city break in Edinburgh.

Comfortable room, good location.

Pros: Great location with plenty of pubs and restaurants near. Fairly easy 30 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride to get to Royal Mile. Not far from haymarket station. Room OK, if a little faded.

Cons: Biggest problem was that the shower tray was slow to drain and the TV was a bit small! Nothing much to moan about.

Cosy guesthouse in heart of Edinburgh

Pros: Great stay, cosy and warm guest house and nice staff. Comfortable bed, good hot shower, kettle & tea & coffee in room. Good location near canal and park and within walking distance to castle.
