Cromlix

Cromlix is owned by Kim and Andy Murray. Nestled in the scenic Scottish countryside just three miles from Dunblane, this historic mansion is located in 34 acres of secluded woodlands and landscaped garden grounds with its own chapel, loch, tennis and pickleball courts. Cromlix offers 16 bedrooms plus a Gate Lodge, The Glasshouse Restaurant & Bar and several beautiful private dining & meeting rooms. Cromlix reimagines what a country house hotel can be with an exquisite, contemporary style and a refreshingly relaxed vibe. Discover the charm, spontaneity and serendipity that can happen when elegance is undone. The creative force behind the hotel is Andy’s wife Kim who takes an active role in shaping the Cromlix experience. The interiors are alive with the vibrant colours of nature, verdant greenery and botanical flourishes and filled with contemporary art and imaginative moments. Inspiration has been drawn from the naturally peaceful setting and sprinkled over with a little fun and a generous helping of drama. From the upholstery to the fresh florals, from the artwork to the lettering on the menu, each detail has been carefully, personally, curated – with a strong preference given to local Scottish artisans, suppliers, and designers. Cromlix delivers a fresh, natural, fun and effortless take on the quintessential country house experience, where the mood is relaxed, guests can unwind, be themselves and enjoy a characteristically welcoming stay. Quality is intrinsic to the hotel’s approach, from the carefully sourced local produce in the restaurant to the finesse with which it’s served. Renowned for impeccable service and attention to detail, but there’s no need to stand on ceremony or make a fuss. Engaging but unobtrusive, the team are always on the lookout for ways to craft special moments. On-site activities include lots of lovely walks and trails, archery, falconry, garden games and in-room spa treatments which can also be booked in advance. Guests can also enjoy The Billiards Room with its gorgeous mix of emerald and floral colours.

Fantastic, somewhere I will happily visit again.

Pros: The restaurant was excellent, great attention to detail, friendly staff and the food was exquisite. The grounds were beautiful, we took a gentle stroll and enjoyed the tranquil scenery. The room was immaculate, comfy and had all the mod cons to make it feel like a home away from home.

Cons: The weather, but its Scotland, in the middle of winter and last time I checked the hotel can't control that. Wrap up warm, and enjoy the surroundings.

Homely, relaxed and wonderful

Pros: A Prosecco on arrival, valet parking and a warm welcome. We went for my husband’s birthday and were given a room upgrade which was fabulous. Beautiful property and wonderful service. Very relaxed and homely

Cons: Glasshouse restaurant not very cosy for dinner although food was fabulous. More a daytime feel to it

A magical couple of days in a beautiful place that felt like home.

Pros: We loved the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of this exceptionally beautiful hotel. From the moment we walked through the door it felt like we were among friends. Staff were attentive yet unobtrusive and the thought and care that had gone into every aspect of the hotel shone through. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, the interior design vibrant and joyful with an eclectic and intriguing mix of art to be discovered in every room. The food was delicious and pre-dinner cocktails in the bar or snooker room a must!

Lovely trip. We were made to feel very welcome but in a very relaxed and personable way.

Pros: The staff were very attentive in a very relaxed and personable way. Breakfast and dinner in the lovely dining room were both tasty and relaxing. The grounds and hotel setting are stunning. We will be back!

Cons: There was nothing to dislike. But one very slight complaint would be the quality of the hair conditioner, but this is splitting hairs.

Definitely a place to return to….thank you!

Pros: Loved it, the intimate size of the whole place was fab and the style and decor of the place was just perfect. Enjoyed 2 dinners, the vegetarian choice was much appreciated even though I’m not vegetarian! We hit it lucky with the weather so sitting out at the back was such a pleasure.

Cons: I liked everything although would try a different room for another stay. Also missed not having a dressing table of some sort but the staff did their best to provide a small table.

Pros: Beautiful hotel beautifully furnished. Staff were very attentive and excellent

Cons: The food at dinner was a bit rich for us although it was beautifully prepared and presented. It's just not our taste and not a reflection on the quality of the food.
