Loch Awe Hotel

Pros: Exceeded my expectations, the staff was beyond friendly and the hotel made us feel like living in a castle.

Pros: The room was of a very good standard, well fitted, clean and comfortable, and a pleasure to stay in. All staff without exception were extremely helpful and friendly.

Cons: All food was terrible, dinner could not have been more bland, without flavour or any seasoning and generally over cooked. Breakfast was as cheap as it could be, limited by it quantity, no full plate cooked breakfast only their chosen combinations available!!

Pros: This place is a step back in time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and spacious. You can book dinner for an additional price, where you can choose from several choices for starters, main course and dessert. The hotel is obviously used for bus groups but that doesn't bother you too much if you don't mind being surrounded by mostly old people.

Cons: You have to be at breakfast exactly at 8 because they seem to have a schedule to follow.

Pros: Breakfast was very good and the service was fantastic. The location of the hotel is fantastic with the train station at the hotel with the link into Oban.

Pros: The location and the hotel itself was absolutely amazing, it's beautiful. The staff were all very friendly and made use feel very welcome.

Cons: My only complaint came from meal times. Every room had their own assigned table in the restaurant, you couldn't choose where you wanted to sit. After being seated for breakfast we must have been asked by about 6 different staff if our order had been taken, it seems that there was no communication between them.
