New Lanark Mill Hotel

The New Lanark Mill Hotel is part of UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hotel has spacious en suite rooms, a restaurant, bar and swimming pool. New Lanark is a small 18th century village, designed as a model industrial centre. Today, the mill buildings, school and workers’ homes have been converted into shops, museums and the New Lanark Mill Hotel. The rooms and the rooftop garden both offer stunning views of the river and the surrounding Conservation Area. The restaurant overlooks the River Clyde and offers traditional Scottish dishes from a cooked breakfast to afternoon tea. As well as the 16 metre swimming pool, there is a modern gym, sauna and steam room. The hotel has received awards for its environmental policies and disabled access. The village is an hour’s drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh and the Mill Hotel is just 1.4 miles from Lanark Railway Station.

A perfect start to any NC500 road trip

Pros: The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It also overlooked the river which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The property also has lots to offer such as a walk to the falls, a shop, and an immersive look into how the mill functioned.

Cons: Wish we stayed there longer!

Amazing break and we’ll definitely return during summer months so that we can do some of the walks!!

Pros: The room is very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is immaculately clean & quite classy. The leisure facilities are very good as is the restaurant! We’re definitely going to go back there again!

Cons: Would’ve liked to have been able to walk into Lanark without taking the car but it was a bit far.

Pros: Nice friendly hotel staff excellent room and food v good pool was fine

Cons: Hotel a bit isolated but fine if you want peace and quiet which we did sauna was out of order bit disappointed

Pros: Perfect location for a weekend getaway. Comfortable beds, very nice swimming pool, tasty breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff.

Cons: Due to old windows and big rooms it was not warm enough in the rooms and it was quite cold in the pool changing room.

A lovely overnight stay and we intend to return for a longer break soon

Pros: An amazing hotel in a truly beautiful place. All very new and high-spec. The river running along the back of the hotel was amazing. Excellent service and very friendly and helpful staff.

Cons: Slightly tricky to find! The satnav took me down a road with bollards but otherwise got there ok.

Friendly staff and great food

Pros: The staff are very friendly, location is beautiful, food at dinner and breakfast was beautiful

Cons: Only small concerns like a few bits of the hotel didn't seem completely clean, little things like wall lights and showers in the gym. Not enough concern to stop me going again. This is my second visit and loved every minute

Pros: Amazing location, spectacular views, lovely staff. Great evening meal.

Cons: Only very minor complaint, the portion of porridge for breakfast was pretty small and only had one berry.

Lovely relaxing and comfortable stay

Pros: Room was lovely clean and comfortable. View fab. Little bit of touch ups needed in bathroom grout but minor. Plenty tea coffee and biscuits. Breakfast was lovely very tasty and staff attentive.
