Crowne Plaza Glasgow by IHG

Only a few minutes’ walk from the SEC campus, the 4-star Crowne Plaza Glasgow overlooks the River Clyde. It has a leisure club with a pool and spa, as well as a maritime-inspired restaurant and bar. Some rooms have a seating area, whilst all have 24-hour room service and city or river views. The Club has a sauna, gym and steam room, with a range of relaxing spa treatments on offer in the Riverside Beauty . The hotel’s Mariner restaurant serves a creative menu of seasonal Scottish cuisine with views of the river. The relaxed Mariner Bar stocks a range of whiskies. Ideal place to stay for a gig at the Hydro

Pros: Great location for the Hydro and they offered parking

Cons: Poor wifi was our only complaint

Above expectations

Pros: Reception staff all super friendly and helpful. My husband and I stayed as we went to a gig at the hydro. Location brilliant as just round the corner from venue. Staff brilliant Room brilliant Food ( only had breakfast ) very good. Only disappointment was the coffee. Would've preferred fresh coffee rather than machine coffee. Bed was extremely comfy and the pillows great. Bar was good drinks are expensive however bottle of beer and a vodka & Redbull for under £15 was good.

Cons: There was nothing

Pros: Room was lovely great view. Staff were very pleasant. Reception staff especially as my husband had a small medical issue and a member of the team gave us some plasters to help. Very grateful.

Cons: The tea but im quite fussy about tea 😆

Overall a lovely experience in a hotel room with an exceptional view and great location.

Pros: The facilities were good. The decor and cleanliness of the reception areas and rooms was very good. The staff were very helpful and polite. There was work going on on one of the lifts. However the noise was kept to work day hours. In fairness to the hotel we were informed about this and it didn’t infringe on our comfort during our stay.

Cons: We stayed in room 1621. The view here were exceptional. However we felt we were sleeping in a boiler room as what felt like a generator or air conditioning unit noise went all night. I believe the noise was coming from the roof directly above. We thought the executive lounge was a bit small although the spread was lovely as was the staff member who overseen the replenishment of same. We were there for the Sunday lunch with live music. The only comment I make here was the lack of choice. Only two main courses to choose from roast chicken or a vegetable dish. For a four star hotel I thought was poor.

Good Stay

Pros: The staff were fantastic at every level. The reception team handled our arrival perfectly and delivered our room earlier than expected. In our opinion the breakfast was the best buffet breakfast we have ever had. It was better than most cooked breakfasts that we've experienced over (many) years.

Cons: Lifts were very slow. (Not related to lift maintenance). Just slow. No walk in shower, only bath with shower. Due to mobility issues this would have been a problem if we were staying more than 1 night.

Pros: Room was excellent with great vies over the Clyde and Glasgow. Buffet style breakfast was enough options to suit every taste.

Cons: The weather which i am afraid we cannot control but otherwise we had a great weekend
