Great location - very good value for money - fulfilled our need for a few days away
Pros: It was very nicely converted from a smiddy to a five bedded property (one double and two twins). As two of the rooms were twins it was good for our group as we are just friends and sharing a double bed would not have been appropriate. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Information in the visitors guide about local activities, food outlets etc was very good. The wood burner was very effective once we got it going - the heat permeated up the stairs into the bedrooms. Once the fabric of the house heated up the place was toasty.
Cons: I don't think it was made clear that the two twin rooms didn't have solid walls - they had a door each but where there would have been a wall there was simply a heavy curtain. This meant that there was no sound insultaion at all in any part of the cottage (apart from the one double bedded room which had a door and walls. The kitchen could have done with a pair of scissors and sharper knives......Apart from that everything else was excellent

Perfect for us.
Pros: It was home away from home, only much nicer and alot less cluttered and in a beautiful location. We loved the aesthetic, the log burner, and comfortable sofa. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, the shower was fantastic, and the bath was epicly deep - heaven after a hiking day. We even had a laugh with the hourly (ish) AM reminders from the cockerel.... and geese. We didn't have a problem with the animal noises, but if you're a light sleeper, just take some ear plugs. It did get very cold, but it's Scotland, it's to be expected and I prepared by bringing extra blankets, which was perfect in the evenings Infront of the fire. Angus was very friendly and approachable, and if we had any problems I'm sure he'd have sorted it asap. The staff in the local pubs and shops were really welcoming and friendly too. If you like somewhere with historical charm, a bit of whimsy and full of character this is the place for you.
Cons: Sorry but we honestly loved all of it. I actually wouldn't want to stay anywhere else when we visit the area again.

Great wee hideaway.
Pros: Great for parking. No view but very private. Everything that we needed was in the kitchen. Loved the inside wooden shutters for night time. twin room also had blackout blind which was great for a wee afternoon nap. Water was lovely and hot and great for the big bath provided.
Cons: Only thing I missed was arriving and there being no firewood at all. ( I think wood basket starts later in October but it was a bit depressing looking at an empty log burner on our first night. Next time I would take logs with me. Apart from that, everything was great.

A cosy, beautiful house full of character in a perfect location
Pros: We loved our stay! The Smiddy was cosy and spotless, in an excellent location for many local walks as well as Glencoe. We loved spending our evenings by the logfire and slept our nights soundly. The hosts were very friendly and the whole experience was wonderful!
Cons: An enclosed garden for the dogs would have been lovely but it was not a big problem for us!
