Good for walking the RRW

Pros: The room was very nice, plenty of room and good bathroom. The food was very good. Staff were friendly.

Cons: Limited hot food for breakfast. We had to wait for check in not helped by being late in the season. They did ring ahead but some confusion on times but we got there in the end and they were helpful

Lovely and tranquil

Pros: Lovely little hotel in a beautiful setting. Room was very nice, right at the front. Breakfast was delicious as was dinner we had there one of the nights. Staff were all friendly, courteous and helpful. Short walk to the shore of Loch Tay and the hotel has fishing rights on the loch. We had a lovely few days here.

Cons: Nothing really, the only thing I would highlight is that our room was really hot at night even with the window open and I think what contributed to that was that the towel radiator in the bathroom could not be turned off so even in July was giving out heat. It's an old building so the walls are thick and I guess that also holds the heat. Be aware that your room doesn't get cleaned every day and you don'tget fresh towels daily, which wasn't an issue for us as we were only there a couple of days but might be for some.

Really enjoyed our two nights there.

Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food beautifully cooked. The hotel is in a lovely place - the walk to the jetty is not too far and the views there fantastic.

Cons: There are no views of the loch from the hotel itself.

A perfectly faultless Fawlty Towers (in the best possible way)

Pros: There are so many things to absolutely love about this hotel! The location is outstanding - surrounded by natural beauty. The room was super spacious, spotlessly clean and everything worked - genuinely one of the best rooms I’ve stayed in! Outdoor seating area by the river lovely too! We didn’t have dinner there but the breakfast was pretty good!

Cons: The reception areas and lounges need some work! They’re odd - some feel unfinished or not in use! It was all rather confusing - a reception desk in the middle of nowhere with a sign to reception that takes you to toilets! (Just to name a few oddities)! The most bizarre part and one which was a constant source of a good giggle for us was the staff situation! There was one person, dripping with sweat, checking people in, showing them to their rooms, serving at the bar and the restaurant - it was insane (all done might I add with a very big welcoming smile on his face). The next morning, the Spanish man who we had serving us at breakfast (an absolute character), was knocking on our door calling out ‘house-keeping’! I’ve seen complaints about this but for us it was quirky and at times made us feel like we were on a sitcom!

Overall lovely stay with very helpful staff (just needed a helper!)

Pros: Beautiful location, food excellent, rooms lovely and hotel charming

Cons: Not enough staff One ooor person running around trying to do everything Meant glasses left lying on table in lounge for hours etc which you wouldn’t expect to see for the price of the hotel. Also had v long wait for breakfast (although was delicious when it did arrive!)

Tranquil stay at Ardeonaig hotel

Pros: The breakfast was gorgeous. The surrounding woodland was very atmospheric and access to the loch was very pretty and an enjoyable walk. The room was very large and spotless with everything we needed. The lady who greeted us was very pleasant and informative about the surrounding area.

The location is beautiful and the accommodation is of a high standard so would be happy visit again.

Pros: Cooked breakfast was very nice. Coffee good. Loved the quiet of the location.

Cons: First evening was nice. The hotel had been advised that my husband was diabetic and provided extra veg instead of potatoes. The next evening again was nice however there was a very limited menu. It appeared if you stayed more than 3 nights you would be repeating your choice of food as the menu did not seem to change. The food was lovely but a wider choice would have been appreciated.

Pros: Really lovely room, lots of space and really quiet

Cons: The walls are quite thin, so can hear people walking along the corridor, but generally super quiet! Lovely location

Pros: Off the beaten track, but a lovely hotel. The room was very clean & comfortable. Dinner had a limited menu but very tasty.

Cons: Lunch was very underwhelming and expensive - £15 for 4 slices of bread, a tomato, some ham & cheese (one cheese & ham sandwich, and one cheese & tomato sandwich) along with a handful of dry dorito-like chips I feel was excessive, especially as a 10% service charge was automatically added to both lunch & dinner (my pet hate).
