Cottage with Panoramic Views

Great location and spacious property

Pros: The location was perfect for us as just 5 miles from where family stay and we needed a base to stay in. It was lovely and quiet and we liked that. It was great to have a washing machine and tumble dryer. There was a dishwasher but we just washed up what we used as we went along as we found that easier. Communication with owners was easy via whats app. A nice touch from the owners leaving milk, cake and a bottle of wine for us on arrival. Asda is just a few miles away where you can easily shop. Loads of wardrobe and storage space and big bedrooms which was lovely. We would stay again but we plan much further in advance for our travels so its hard because dates are not released further enough in advance for us.

Cons: As a previous reviewer has commented the additional sofa in lounge is actually a bed so it is not comfortable to sit on and relax so our young adults that were with us (age 20) tended to sit on the floor or at the table. Obviously with a property for 4 people you do expect to be able to all sit down on lounge furniture. The en suite bathroom is looking tired especially compared to the main bathroom. The carpets through the hallway have some carpet runner mats on them and these were constantly moving around with us walking up and down the hallway and I felt these were a trip hazard. Also the mats at the front door - I understand why they are there so people wipe their feet walking in but it needed to be something better fitting. I would have loved a pair of scissors in the kitchen drawer. Others commented on the heating and of course I read the book which gives clear information about the heating and age of property etc. We actually found most of the time it was too hot for us. We were only cold on 1 day.

Pros: Great place, quiet and spacious with everything you need. Well located for trips to Glasgow and Edinburgh (train station is nearby)

Pros: Easy to find location, very clean and tidy. Nicely decorated and everything you need is available.

Pros: The place was spacious and comfortable. It was not too far from cities and towns, yet in a nice and quiet location. The view is beautiful on a clear day. The host also provided complementary cake and wine to welcome us.

Cons: There was no sponge for dishwashing, and the water pressure was low at times.

A spacious property in quiet location.

Pros: Good quiet location. Easy access to Glasgow and Edinburgh by car and local train station. Good space. Comfy bed. Hosts on site and very helpful and responded quickly to any query.

Cons: Kitchen could have more cooking pots and pans. No hairdryer. Seating in lounge not very comfy for 4 adults. En-suite looks a bit tired.

Excellent, relaxing stay with stunning views.

Pros: Location was stunning. Lovely room set up's throughout house. Up to date appliances.

Cons: No fans available as the nights were v hot (although in all fairness I never messaged the host either to ask if any were available!). If cutlery/crockery/kitchen/dishwasher available then washing liquid etc should also be provided.

We would definitely stay again.

Pros: Clean warm property with oodles of space and loads of storage, parking no problem. Very quite area no traffic. Very scenic as advertised. Plenty of kitchen facilities. Large Fridge/Freezer, microwave , oven, toaster and plenty of hot water. Showers are all electric and worked well. Large TV with Sky and Wi-Fi. There is a railway station in Shotts just a 7 minute drive away with free parking and plenty of trains to Edinburgh or Glasgow. Great place to chill out in, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Cons: No negatives

was a lovely home from home and gave me much needed time and space to relax. I would go back again to stay here

Pros: it was quiet and relaxed and had everything you needed. each room was a really good size.

Cons: the wifi would drop in and out at times
