A wonderful two night stay as part of our cycle tour of Arran, Islay and Jura, thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Pros: Wonderful, characterful accommodation in a magnificent setting between the mountains and the sea. We had a great time cycling up the Long Road to Barnhill, strenuous but worth it. Highlight was cooking pizza together at the hut, the oven and supplied ingredients worked perfectly. Many thanks Pi and Pixel.

Orwell would have loved the Black Hut.

Pros: The compact cosiness and well equipped kitchen. Impressed that we were left bird food to encourage the wide array of birds at the feeders. Great selection of books and puzzles in case of bad weather.

Cons: Could find the first aid kit and cafetiere plunger doesn't fit.

Beautiful hut in amazing Jura

Pros: Beautiful hut, very cosy and well equiped. Well situated in Jura, just near by the start of the Paps walk. Calm area. Great if you like hiking and calm places, but also good to rest. Great communication by Pi with all the details. The room upstairs has a beautiful view and direct broadcasting of aurora if you are lucky, just an incredible experience.

Cons: If has not been an issue for me but, as very well mentionned in the description, the room upstairs is accessible only by a quite steep ladder. Not really a negative point. It is for me part of the charm of the hut.
