The Old Cottage

Pros: A fantastic B & B with stunning views. A superb base to explore some truly stunning places. Karen's breakfasts are first class and Darren's almost encyclopaedic knowledge of the surrounding area's really came in helpful. There's a great restaurant literally a minutes walk away and several more a short drive away. Definitely somewhere we'll be returning.

Pros: The breakfast was beautiful and the wildlife visible from the breakfast room was amazing.

Pros: It’s lovely. Very comfortable room, great hospitality from the owners, and excellent breakfast. It’s in a beautiful location, right next to the botanical gardens and a four star hotel that does great food, among other places locally.

Cons: Can’t fault anything.

Quiet beachside B&B with great breakfast

Pros: Right next to a beach and Arduaine Gardens. Fantastic breakfast and lovely hosts who helped with our sightseeing planning

A treat away from busyness

Pros: Nice quiet retreat. Great Location next to the melfort hotel and the audurain garden. Host Darren and Karen was very welcoming and accommodating. A lovely couple. Breakfast with partial loch view and watching birds, rabbit feeding takes you to Beatrice Porter’s Peter Rabbit world. I stayed in Room Islay which is lovely.

Pros: Darren & Karen where lovely hosts, very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local history, wildlife, places to eat ect. Our room was very well presented, comfortable bed, well thought out décor and furnishings, also had own private outside entrance. The shared lounge was an extra bonus, beautifully furnished with well stocked books, maps and information literature. The location was ideal for the Arduaine Gardens which we planned to visit. The breakfast was excellent regarding choice and quality produce.

Pros: Fantastic location, lovely room with comfortable bed and huge bathroom with powerful shower. Great choice for breakfast. Darren and Karen were lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful but still respected your privacy. Could have stayed much longer and will certainly be back.

A lovely stay in a great location with fantastic hosts.

Pros: Breakfast was great and we watched rabbits and birds eat seeds on the patio.

Pros: Great room, gorgeous location, lovely and attentive hosts (who also let you have your privacy). Would certainly stay here again.
