Bijou getaway spot ideal for Pentlands walking

Pros: Great location for walking in the Pentlands, ideal for a getaway. The room was comfortable and well-equipped with things you might need, like an air fryer, internet, a great shower, but mercifully no TV - a definite plus point. Bed was very comfortable, and we liked the tasteful furnishings and interesting selection of vintage tech items decorating the room.

Cons: Parking was fine, but it was a bit hard to turn around in our admittedly large car. Coming back late at night we needed our phone torches to light the way to the door as there was no PIR-activated light.

Pros: The cabin itself is absolutely lovely. In a great location just outside edinburgh and lovely and quiet. Plenty of things to do and not too far out the way that its a hassle. Tom and Sophie are both lovely people and made sure our stay was as good as it could be.

Cons: We were unaware there was dogs next door that are quite yappy and persistent at times which can kill the atmosphere as they are just left to bark but that is no reflection of the retreat itself. The only issue we had was the water temp in the shower was quite cold but as soon as i spoke to tom about it he assured me he would look into it however offered us to use their own personal shower to make up for the inconvience.

Pros: Fantastic location, nice and peaceful, ideal for a couple who want to get away from everything (especially as no TV)

Picturesque, cozy space.

Pros: Lovely little property, warm and cozy perfect place if you want to be near the city but still want to be in nature! Had all the facilities you need.

Practical and ccosy

Pros: Lovely and quiet place, fair equipment, , easy access by car to the municipal transport/bus station, friendly owner.

Pros: Beautiful cosy retreat tucked away in Nine Mile Burn. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious, and the views were serene.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the world

Pros: What an absolutely beautiful property that blew away all my expectations. It is very remote and surrounded by beautiful mountains. The kitchen was very well stocked and is a nice place for simple meals. The owners were so lovely and gave some great advice and were available to help. I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Edinburgh area visit

Pros: No extra charge for a dog. The place is so quiet. Its basic but has all you need and perfect spot to drive around the area. The Pentland Hills car park is a couple miles down the road (5mins drive). Edinburgh is a 40 drive away but i use Newcraighall Park and ride which is about 30mins away and then 15mins on train to centre

Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Would love to stay again it was beautiful,cosy and well worth the money.

Pros: Beautiful little place to stay, close to Penicuik town for shopping and Edinburgh is a 40 min drive.

Cons: The only issue we had was the shower didn’t get hot, we spoke to Sophie and she managed to fix it but it still wasn’t 100%. That was the only minor issue, everything else was perfect!

Pros: Lovely owners, the place was really nicely kept and was in a beautiful location with lots of nice walking areas. All the facilities you would need. The location is really serene and peaceful but close enough to the city. Highly recommended!
