Perfect loch holiday accommodation

Pros: A beautifully refurbished bungalow in a superb location and well equipped. Good communication from the owners. Clean, comfortable, relaxing. Whilst the main highlights were location, grounds and view other points of delight were the great fridge/freezer and large cooker, fast internet, TV/games room for relaxing in. Despite being nicely located away from most other Carrick accommodation, the property is not too isolated, having a shop and cafe both within a few minutes' drive.

Cons: Hard to fault. The location does make the property prone to midges and sadly this makes it necessary to close windows at night. This makes the bedrooms a bit airless, and a fan (as listed) would have been beneficial, or nets to attach to the windows. (The owner did obtain mosquito nets during our stay but these are of the wearable kind.)

I would buy this place if I could!

Pros: That view of the loch! Not to mention how well furnished it is and all the facilities it has and how friendly and helpful the hosts are. But the location is just other worldly!

Cons: There was nothing that I didn't like. But may be a few points that could be slightly bothersome to some people (but really, this takes complaining to a new level): - The heating system needs getting used to. Especially in the bedrooms. - The mattresses are a bit on the softer side, so some people might find it too soft and back pain inducing. - The flooring and the doors creak quite a bit. Not for light sleepers, I guess. - The location is quite isolated from city life and big shops (so buy stuff in advance). - The road leading to the place is a single track road for 25-30 mins (around 10 miles/16 km). That can be quite demanding since you'll need at least that long to get to the highway every time you travel around.

Pros: We had a wonderful time as a family during the Easter holidays. Very comfortable house, great views and walks around, excellent facilities for kids in the nearby holiday village.

Fabulous!

Pros: The location was absolutely perfect, and the property beautifully planned and decorated. It had a wonderful kitchen / living and dining space and the view into Loch Goil was amazing to wake up to every morning. The little snug for TV watching was perfect for those who wanted to cosy away.

Cons: Nothing to dislike, just an observation that the entrance to the drive is quite narrow.

Tranquil calming and so relaxing to be there. The house is great and so comfortable.

Pros: The house was so warm and welcoming when we arrived, it is spotlessly clean and so comfortable. The views are just amazing to wake up to each day and we had a great time relaxing in the nice quiet area. The kitchen is awesome and welll equipped. Take the owners advice and make sure you are stocked up with food for when you get there or as quickly after as local shops are a little limited but more than usable.

Cons: Didn’t like is a bit harsh as the place is awesome! Folks need to take their time getting down the small road to get to it but it’s well worth the patience!

Tranquil, relaxation in a beautiful and comfortable environment.

Pros: The views were spectacular. The house was comfortable, spacious and relaxing. The area was lovely and quiet but with a hotel resort 10-15 minutes away with great facilities for the kids, restaurant and spa.

Cons: Facilities were good and house very well presented. The thick tin foil on every shelf in the oven was a bit annoying as, although it will keep it clean, it did not allow for proper convection of heat to cook in the oven. Minor points but do make a difference.

We loved our stay and the the host was very helpful.

Pros: We loved the view from the window and the jacuzzi bath and shower room.

Cons: The mattresses were too firm for us.

Ons verblijf kon niet beter, is voor herhaling vatbaar en we hebben heimwee naar de omgeving.

Pros: Het uitzicht en de ligging aan het Loch zijn fantastisch. Ondanks het koude water was het heerlijk om er dagelijks een duik in te nemen. Het weer was heel goed en daarom was het fijn dat er buiten op verschillende plekken (veranda, tuin) zitplekjes zijn. We hebben zelfs nog gebruik kunnen maken van de BBQ. Ook de aparte TV kamer is fijn. Vlakbij het huis is de start van een prachtige wandeling naar een waterval. En in de buurt van het kasteel is een mooie visplek, waar ook zeehonden zich laten zien. Ook de nabijheid van het vakantiepark was handig voor een boodschapje of restaurantbezoek.

Cons: Eigenlijk was er niets wat tegenviel. In het begin moesten we eraan wennen dat het erg afgelegen ligt en altijd het smalle slingerpaadje afgelegd moet worden om ergens te komen. Dat kost wel tijd. Maar eenmaal een paar keer gedaan, zagen we daar juist de voordelen van. Er is zoveel rust en dat kleine slingerpaadje was een prachtige route dwars door de bergen met waanzinnige uitzichten, vooral aan het eind als je de bergpas \

Pros: Das Ferienhaus hat eine traumhafte Lage, nur durch eine kleine, wenig befahrene Straße vom See getrennt. Die Aussicht vom Wohnzimmer bzw. der Terrasse haben wir jeden Morgen und Abend aufs Neue genossen. Die Kommunikation mit Ann war ein weiterer Pluspunkt, wir wurden über Aktivitäten in der Nähe und bei der Anreise sogar über eine Straßensperre wegen einer Hubschrauberlandung informiert. Solch ein Service erlebt man bei Ferienhausvermietern selten!

Cons: Kein Kritikpunkt, aber für Reisende vielleicht interessant: Die Straße zum Ferienhaus, entlang des Lochs, ist sehr schmal, mit Ausweichbuchten.

Wonderfull holiday house

Pros: Het uitzicht vanuit de woning is waanzinnig mooi. Er zijn veel ramen, dus dat is erg fijn. Ook de bedden, kastruimte, 2 badkamers en 2 tv's waren een pluspunt & het contact met Ann verliep erg prettig. Ze reageert erg snel... Kortom het was een fantastisch verblijf.
