Perfect for our needs!

Pros: Ideal location as we were at an event in the village.

Cons: The only downside was you could hear downstairs quite loudly at times which wasn’t a massive problem. So I’m sure visitors can be heard loudly too. Great location, views are exceptional and definitely would stay again.

Excellent location, superb views

Pros: Ideal location and base to visit Edinburgh. Accommodation clean and well equipped. Nice welcome pack of bread, milk, cheese, fruit and more importantly coffee pods! Peaceful location and Queensferry has many places to eat and walks. As a couple we used a two together railcard to catch the train (a 10 mins walk) from Dalmeny station to Edinburgh Waverley for 3-days in a row. In Sep 2025, this was only £8.49 daily return for the two of us with an open return and no peak time limits.

Cons: Communication from the host could have been better. We were supposed to be met on arrival, but my wife had to knock on the lower house door and one of the children shouted up the keybox code - which could have been provided in advance A few fixtures and fittings could do with attention, but would not stop me recommending or visiting again, as the pros outweigh the cons.

Pros: We loved the place. Views were the best we’ve ever seen. Lovely and clean. Easy access to the village, couldn’t fault it.

Cons: Nothing really.

A gem of a find

Pros: Situated in a great location, easy to travel into Edinburgh by train and bus. The accommodation was beautiful with a great view over the water, comfortable and very clean, hostess was extremely helpful. The town itself was lovely with some great coffee shops and restaurants.

New Year's at Forth Reflections

Pros: Gorgeous cosy cottage overlooking the Forth River. The atmosphere inside was lovely, through the furniture and decor. We stayed over New Year but there were still cute Christmas lights and decorations in the living room. The location is stunning no matter the weather!

Cons: Some cutlery and crockery hadn't been cleaned thoroughly so just needed a wash before use. The sofa bed was okay for a few nights but would be uncomfortable for a longer stay.

Probably the best stay near Edinurgh

Pros: We were visiting Edinburgh and by chance I saw this establishment in Booking.com. Love on first sight! The photos are very accurate. The house is as idyllic and beautiful as shown and even more!!! It has a fully equipped kitchen and the hostess had put breakfast items (bread, cheese, milk, fruit, coffee) for us. That was a pleasant surprise. Bathroom and bedroom were clean and there was plenty of pillows and towels to use. The view of the bridges and queensferry is phenomenal. If you are visiting queensferry, the location is ideal next to all the pubs and restaurants and close to a scenic walking/bicycle route in the forest. If you are visiting Edinburgh (like us) the bus stop is just 5 min walk and the train stop 15 min walk through the aforementioned forest route. Better use the bus 43 as it is more frequent than the train. And you need the almost the same amount of time to reach Edinburgh centre (20-30 min)

Cons: There are though some issues, that if you are planning on staying more than just the nights there, will definitely affect you. The house is fairly old and as a result you can hear EVERYTHING from the family that lives on the floor below (arguments, kids crying and playing, anyone that goes up or down their stairs, television programmes etc). sometimes I felt that someone was into my apartment. Apart from the noises, another thing that you take from the family downstairs are the smells from their kitchen. anything that they cook/frying comes up to your room. The wifi password was nowhere to be found (the sign behind the router was scratched and the hostess had not respond in 3 messages that i sent regarding the issue) The shower needs either a shower handle or a bigger glass on the bathtub. you have to stick to the wall in order for the water to reach you

Great value for more, great welcome package including, bread, milk, cheese and bananas.

Pros: Wonderful views and a short distance to the airport.

Cons: Parking was a bit of an issue, had to squeeze in a very tight corner on very uneven ground and the lane to get there was barely wide enough for the car, if you were to meet another driver you’d be stuck as there are nos passing points.
