Hawthorn Lodge

Pros: The images shown on booking are slightly inaccurate, However, it is a Beautiful location... Clean, and has everything required for a self catering stay... Lovely sense of solitude but also local stores with friendly and welcoming staff... That are only a walk away ... Also Site Manager available for any mishaps that may happen.

Cons: Images of interior slightly mismatch on booking.com ... The lodge itself has all you need for self catering stay... I arrived after a flash frost and the lodge needed heating... Very expensive initially as it has a coin meter and the rates were much higher than expected... However, once heated and with advice and help from the new owner and site manager this was a wonderful experience that I will be forever grateful for. The bathrooms could do with a bit of upgrading due to excessive condensation but there are clearly improvements being made on the site due to constructive communication with the owner and site manager... I defitively would return to that lodge when I revisit Arran if I wish to visit the south 😊

Pros: Lovely Lodge. Spacious Sitting/Dining area. Well equipped

Cons: Stones leading up path/steps. I am under 5ft - getting on in years. A couple of the steps were quite steep.

Alles da was man braucht

Pros: Die Lage ist super, alles notwendige war gut erreichbar.

Cons: Um Strom zu haben, müssten £1,-- Münzen in den Zähler eingeworfen werden. (Wurden bereitgestellt). Hat man das vergessen, gab es keine Heizung und kein Licht. Die Matratzen waren unglaublich hart.
