Arivonie Lochside Cottage

Great base for a really relaxing family break

Pros: Great location. Easy walking distance of ballachulish and glencoe villages.

Convenient for Glen Coe and exploring the area

Pros: Well appointed cottage with good views in all directions. An excellent hospitality tray on arrival and good facilities. Good parking and close to amenities .. The friendly owner runs a lovely gallery downstairs... Shes a talented artist. She also makes fused glass art on the premises... We could hear her chipping away at glass through the connecting door in the kitchen, so you can watch her work in the gallery. Her kiln is in the shed in the garden and shes backwards and forwards so im sure she would be happy to help if you had any issues. We actually extended our stay for a fourth night as its convenient for exploring the area and the first two days were taken up with work.

Cons: For those not terribly agile note that the stairs bend round, then there are steps down again into the lounge and twin room. The cottage is also on one of the busiest main A roads through the area so traffic is constant 24/7. The double room is the quieter of the two. ( If you live in a city this might not be an issue, but we live in the countryside and came for a peaceful break so it was a bit of a negative for us).

Overall nice place and location

Pros: Nice property. Kitchen well stocked with utensils, pots and pans ect. Beds were clean and changed between our first and second week. And comfortable. Views from living room and bedrooms were absolutely Beautiful. Plenty of wardrobe space. Dogs allowed at extra charge. All in all was a nice place to stay

Cons: Property was a little dusty when we arrived. Spare pillows in landing cupboard was very dirty so we didn't bother. Very confusing policy as they were very different between booking. Com (which I signed)and the information book in living room. This mainly pertaining to dog policy. I was not made aware before arrival there would be no dogs allowed upstairs in the living room. I would say it was more expensive than other properties locally. But I think all in all the above could be used as improvements rather than criticism.

Pros: Sehr gemütliches Haus, gute ausgestattete Küche im Erdgeschoss, der Esstisch ist allerdings im 1. Stock, das würde ich nicht negativ bewerten, da es ja auf dem Lageplan ersichtlich ist und für uns auch kein Problem. Bei längeren Aufenthalten sollte man das beachten. Dafür hat man auch eine traumhafte Aussicht! Supermarkt in der Nähe, parken direkt vor der Tür, 2 Toiletten, perfekt, ,....

Pros: Location. Cosy, like a home. Clean. Good communication from host. Couldn’t ask for more; the nicest place we stayed on this trip
