Sixpenny Bay

Pros: I loved everything about this place. Its clean, spacious, literally has everything you need. The owners make you feel so welcome. I cant wait to return with my family.

An exceptional lodge

Pros: My friends and I were so impressed with Sixpenny Bay. It's such a beautiful well-kept lodge, with lots of thoughtful extra touches that really make the difference. The log burner was a group favourite - particularly after our winter walk up Ben Lawers. We also very much appreciated the fully stocked log basket, shortbread and Nespresso! I would have no hesitation in highly recommending a stay at Sixpenny Bay.

Very Cozy Lodge for Winter

Pros: Very nice Scottish lodge with lovely view of the loch. Lots of complimentary thoughtful touches like logs, Nespresso capsules and WiFi.

A perfect peaceful getaway!

Pros: The setting is beautiful — surrounded by peaceful countryside and stunning views of Loch Tay. The lodge is beautifully maintained, spotless, and filled with thoughtful personal touches that made us feel at home. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. They provided great local recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were cozy, the kitchen was well-equipped, and we loved relaxing by the log burning stove in the evening. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, explore, or simply enjoy some quiet time in nature. We added an extra day onto our stay and left feeling completely refreshed and already planning our next visit!!!

Wonderful location and lodge

Pros: Beautiful location🏞️. Immaculate and comfortable lodge 🏡Starlink internet was super fast . Lots of new items, some still with tags on 😆 it was nice to have all new crockery, cutlery, cooking pans and complementary Nespresso, Tea bags and cookies ☕🫖🍪🍪. Inside was freshly painted. The owners seem to have gone to a lot of effort to refurbish and left a lovely welcome note. We loved Falls of Dochart and the smokehouse at Killin. Recommend the hike up Ben Lawers⛰️

Cons: Minor. Dining chairs are a bit tired and outside steps a bit narrow but Billy advised these were about to be replaced. Some toiletries would be a nice touch as we didn't have bath soap 🛀

Very pleasant stay. We will be back

Pros: We had a lovely peaceful weekend at the lodge and Loch Tay. The new owners happened to be there on arrival: they were planning some renovations and apologised personally for the recent bad reviews - but we honestly didn't see what the fuss was about. We found the place to be clean and very comfortable. It's a very quiet location with a great view - it would be a wonderful place to stay in winter with the log stove on. Lots of activities on site and the food at the Boathouse was excellent.

Pros: beautiful setting. clean and spacious. lovely peaceful place. worth a visit :) great to walk and explore. Golf course close by that offers great curry. wonderful to braai and the forest nearby is absolutely beautiful

Cons: you need to be aware as a foreigner, that you have to buy the wifi, its not included, and not available in all areas, even if you have paid. also only allows 1 person of the company to buy the wifi. The boathouse restaurant was not open on a tuesday and wednesday. luckily we brought food.
