Self-Catering Suite in rural guest house 10 min to Islay Ferry Terminal

Second time I’ve stayed here - lovely accommodation with the added bonus of being close to Kennacraig

Pros: The property is very comfortable and has everything you need for a short stay. Kitchen is well equipped, bed cosy and bathroom has a great shower

Cons: For those who forgot an iPad - or caught out by circumstances - a basic Bluetooth DAB radio would be a great addition

Pros: Nice and cozy loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom! The shower is excellent. Nice little kitchen, and had coffee etc available which was a bonus as we were there only for a night.

Quiet Country Location

Pros: Perfect location, in the quiet countryside. The apartment is spotlessly clean, well appointed and the addition of the log burner and 7nderfloor heating is fabulous.

Cons: Absolutely nothing!!

Pros: This is beautifully peaceful and secluded space - no tv! Just what we needed for a real getaway from it all! Good location for exploring the whole of Kintyre too. We came and went as we pleased but coming back to a warm and comfy space was very welcoming at this time of year.

Cons: This isnt a dislike, more an observation! We missed the turning in the dark, despite following the sat nav. The entrance is awkwardly situated on a slight hill and there is no signage from eithe direction, so slow down well in advance and be prepared for a sharp turn and a rutted track up to the house!

Warm and welcoming

Pros: The host, Andrea, was friendly and helpful. The flat was more spacious than expected. The kitchen was nice and had everything you need in it. I liked the fresh wild flowers on the table. Having the log burner was wonderful. The bathroom was modern and large, with plenty of surface space around the sink for your lotions and potions, which I appreciated. A warm and comfortable place to come back to after a day's walking.

Cons: I found the (memory foam?) mattress uncomfortably soft, but no other review has mentioned this, so it's maybe just me preferring a firm mattress for a good night's sleep.

Pros: The host Andrea was very helpfully with suggestions for walks and his food was amazing

Pros: The property was spacious, well equipped and finished to a high specification and in a quiet location. The location was rural however a short drive and close enough to local amenities if needed. The property was more spacious than the photographs suggest, particularly the bedroom and bathroom. The property was very clean and the host was lovely and very helpful. We enjoyed a great break in very peaceful country setting and in very comfortable accommodation. Good instructions for the accommodation and the local area. We visited in August when the weather was pleasant, there is outdoor seating space for better weather and a log burner for the winter, so would be comfortable at any time of the year. Our only issue was we couldn’t stay longer and would definitely stay again, highly recommend this accommodation option. It’s a great place to escape, unwind and relax.

Cons: One thing to note is there is internet available however no TV, this was not an issue for us but may be for some people.

Brilliant stay, loved it.

Pros: Stunning, modern self catering apartment in a beautiful rural area. Bijou but big enough for 2 people. Everything you needed was at hand. A few mins drive from the ferry port. Loved seeing the animals in our garden 🤩

Cons: I would have sacrificed a kitchen unit to fit a larger sofa in.

Perfect getaway set in idyllic location

Pros: It had everything you needed. Was in the middle of nowhere. Very idyllic and peaceful. Loved the free roaming animals. Perfect location for the Islay ferry. Bed was very comfortable. Slept very well.

Cons: There was nothing.
