Stunning Edinburgh 1820s stables converted studio

Wonderful apartment in a lovely quiet location with a great host

Pros: I was looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay near Edinburgh during a Christmas visit with friends and family. The Stables apartment turned out to be just what I was hoping for: a perfect bolt hole in a perfect, peaceful location with an an exceptionally lovely and helpful host.

Comfortable, well equipped, but take basic provisions with you. Owners v helpful.

Cons: Although the directions were very detailed, we somehow did manage to approach the property along the very bumpy road. As it was dark it was hard to see where we were going and where to park-but we figured it out! I'd like to have known that it would be a good idea to take basic provisions with me as again, we arrived in the dark, not really knowing the area then had to venture out again to find a local shop. Otherwise, perhaps the owners could provide milk, bread, eggs, butter to get you started-a lot of places do that these days. I don't think this would be a great location if you're travelling by car.

Beautiful accommodation with all modern facilities including full cooking facilities in the kitchen.

Pros: Beautiful new modern facilities were very nice. The owner was a delight. Large comfortable rooms and a brilliant shower which was easy to use.

Cons: Gravel was very hard to bring wheeled suitcases.

Pros: this is such a beautiful property, we were made to feel so so welcome and the standard of the interior, furniture and amenities were excellent and the apartment is tastefully decorated. we stayed in the green room which was self catering and it had everything we could ever need, it really felt like home from home.

A perfect getaway.

Pros: Beautifully appointed room with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Dannii is very helpful with anything you might need for the room and as a guide to local activities and sights.

Cons: You’ll need a car. However, you can walk to The Bridge Inn for meals. Along the canal path and through the golf course and the park & ride with ample parking is nearby (by car) for trips into Edinburgh.
