Comfortable family-friendly stay in a great location
Pros: The property was more than we needed and worked perfectly for our family of three. We wanted a place to ourselves where our little one could freely play and move around, and it delivered exactly that. The location is ideal for exploring Edinburgh, close enough to the city centre but still quiet, with the added bonus of free parking. The upstairs en suite shower and toilet were a great addition. Basics such as tea, coffee, sauces and essential items were provided, which was appreciated. Books and toys were also available, which was a nice touch for families. The host was kind enough to offer an early check-in and late check-out, even though it was only by a few minutes.
Cons: For the price, the mattresses, bedding and towels could be upgraded to better quality. A small welcome basket would have been a nice touch. Some of the toys were broken or missing batteries, so it may be better to remove these if they are not in working condition. The water did not heat up very well, and baths were only lukewarm, so we had to rely on the shower for hot water; this could be worth adjusting, especially during winter. As we stayed during the festive season, some Christmas decorations would have made the stay feel more special. One wall had been newly painted when we arrived, which we appreciate as an improvement, but it may be better to schedule this when there are no guests.

Only one step before a 10/10
Pros: Quiet area, plenty of parking, fully equipped house for four people, good heating, near rail station, 15 ' from center by train
Cons: The bed in the upstairs bedroom is too small for an average couple, and the mattress is undersized for the frame—though still comfortable. I think a queen-size bed with a solid, thick mattress would really complete an otherwise excellent review of the house.

Great location and good size cottage for a family
Pros: Very roomy with all facilities provided. Nice gift left by host. Great location for transport options, thought price was a bit high, but is that just the norm for Edinburgh?
Cons: Master bed was not as comfortable as would have liked and pillows were uncomfortable

Comfortable cosy cottage with welcoming atmosphere
Pros: Handy location, close to the airport and about 15 minutes drive from the city centre. Excellent communication from the friendly host! Cottage was compact but comfortable, with one bedroom and bathroom downstairs, and a spacious bedroom and small ensuite upstairs. Nice little garden outlook from loungeroom. Would happily stay here again!
Cons: Stairs to upper floor were a little challenging but to be expected in a smaller property!

Perfect house for visiting Edinburgh
Pros: Great cottage with everything we needed. Less than 10 mins walk to the train station and then less than 10 mins on the train to the centre of Edinburgh. Cost about £3 return per adult. Smart TV that worked well. A well equipped kitchen. Plenty of bedding. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Lovely to have cookies on arrival and also milk in the fridge. Very quiet estate. We never heard other people at all and felt very safe walking back in the dark.
