A great place to stay for exploring the Highlands

Pros: Extremely well-equipped kitchen with high quality appliances. All mod cons yet plenty of character Lovely setting and pretty decor. Clean, cosy, good quality bedding. Views 2 bathrooms

Cons: A bit hard to find: Sat-nav took us up the wrong lane. 2nd bed is a pull-out sofa bed in living room which limits its use as a communal living area for 4 people.

Pros: Lovely area, great outdoor space with barbecue and host was very friendly. Great food truck doing sea food - 3mins walk away next to the reception of the nearly lodges.

Cons: A few more tips of what is immediately available would be good - You can get charcoal for the BBQ from the reception of the lodges which is 3mins walk away.

Quiet luxurious stay at the foot of the mountain(s)

Pros: Beautiful old house with a conversion of 2 hotel rooms and a hallway into the apartment. The bedrooms are big and spacious. The living room plus open dining area was great for my toddler to play in, and he loved running up and down the kitchen hallway with his cars.

Cons: Only thing missing—we couldn’t find a dustpan and brush and our toddler makes quite a mess…

Pros: We loved the house, the gardens, the area. Ballachulish house is quite unique and it was a special experience to stay at such an old, beautiful house.

Cons: One of the beds is extremely uncomfortable (poor Ikea quality/old mattress) and the bathrooms are very cold. Slightly overpriced rates overall, but lovely stay nonetheless.
