Lovely woodland cottage
Pros: Being in a wood. Very quiet. Lovely valley. With standing stone, rock art. Lovely hosts. Lots of quirky follies in woods. Riverside location. Handy for Kilmartin with fantastic museum and archaeology. Not far from Spar store and petrol station.
Cons: Bath and shower attachment was a little cramped for me.

My favourite home away from home in Scotland
Pros: This was one of the best places I have ever stayed! I can't wait to come back. They've got something very special here - a great quality place brimming with complimentary extras, a magical wee garden and fire pit, friendly chickens and dogs to hang out with, and hosts who are exceptionally friendly, personable, and knowledgable about the local area. As a writer, historian, and lover of the Scottish countryside who has been traveling within Scotland for 15+ years, this is probably my favourite place. Thanks for a brilliant stay!
Cons: Nothing - it was all wonderful!

Pros: Tir na nog is one of those little gems that you come across by accident, then realise it was there waiting for you to discover. The accomodation is spacious, clean , modern and comfortable. Our hosts welcomed us warmly and there was freshly baked bread and a platter of the most delicious cakes, which I will admit I ate most of! We had a private garden area and complete access to all the land beyond. A beautiful burbling stream surrounds the estate which is a part of the ancient celtic rain forest . It's magical, especially on midsummer's eve when each glade is glowing with twinkling fairy lights. Argyll coast is absolutely spectacular. Wonderful views out to the islands , great walking up the Crinan canal and through the woods. Fantastic day out on the Clyde Steam Puffer boat which sails from Crinan. Very peaceful, totally unspoilt and unhurried, step back in time thousands of years and see history unfold in the landscape. We loved it.
Cons: Nothing really but if you know western Scotland you will be aware of those little midges!

A comfy cottage with welcoming extras to make the stay unique.
Pros: Peter met us as we drove up and the cottage was ready and open.
Cons: Although the cottage was in a rural location it looked out onto the owners property, so there was little privacy.
