Cosy Autumn Break

Pros: Our host was very welcoming and gave us the essential information about the holiday let. The Stables is well appointed and is lovely and cosy. Walks in the grounds were very pleasant and full of wildlife. Locals and neighbours are friendly. 1 It is well situated for visiting various attractions in Dumfries and Galloway as well as Ayrshire.

Cons: Maybe a light under the archway would be a great addition for folks returning/arriving in the dark but this is a very minor point.

A home from home.

Pros: Well equipped property. No traffic noise. Countryside views. Comfortable.

Cons: A longer stay.

Perfect stay

Pros: We have been holidaying in the area for a number of years and I have to say this was one of the most restful holidays I've had in a long time although we did have the most amazing weather. The apartment is the perfect size for a couple. Parking is easy and allocated to the cottage and there is plenty of space for any size of car. The cottage is accessed via a courtyard of other properties but there is lots of privacy. The owners have thought of everything. There is a fully contained little garden looking onto a field and woodland and some lovely walking around the estate. There are two lochs on the grounds with several follies that are hugely interesting. We loved Dalswinton Barony Church. It was so striking and the replica steamboat was also very interesting. The bed was very comfy, shower and central heating easy to use. Everything was clean, spacious and well laid out. To say this is just outside of Dumfries it is still very rural and quiet and was really delightful.

Cons: Nothing. It was perfect. A squeegee in the shower - but I'm being ridiculously picky!

Pros: This cottage, situated on the Dalswinton Estate, is exceptional. There is not one thing about it that we could fault, apart from the fact that we couldn't stay longer! We had family staying at a nearby hotel and when they saw our accommodation (at a fraction of the price of their hotel) they were green with envy.

Cons: Leaving!!!

Pros: Excellent accommodation in peaceful rural surroundings.

Pros: Sarah was friendly and met us to check-in. Location was stunning. Property had everything we needed.
