Portnellan offers award-winning self catering accommodation situated in the northern region of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, a 90-minute drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Portnellan's holiday lodges and cottages are located 2 km from the village of Crianlarich within a privately owned family estate with the famous Ben More mountain towering above. The location benefits from sensational views across the lochs, mountains and glen. The properties vary in size from 1 to 8 bedrooms and can sleep from 1 to 16 people with fully fitted kitchens, sumptious hotel grade bed mattresses, Egyptian cotton bed linen, towels and soaps. The Portnellan Estate boasts a selection of traditionally built stone cottages and timber framed lodges overlooking Loch Iubhair (pronounced Ewar), Loch Dochart, Glen Dochart and the surrounding mountains. Open plan living areas lead to large deckings which feature garden furniture to enjoy the stunning true, rugged, Highland landscape all around you. On-site activities and facilities rowing boats, wild salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, kayaks, paddle boards and much much more. There is also a games room offering table tennis, pool table and table football. Recently introduced on site is a "BBQ hutte" available to hire that seats up to 16 people. Perfect for all year round, regardless of the weather, real fire BBQing experience for family and friends to enjoy. There is a small visitor's centre offering local organic meat and local produce. There is an extensive DVD library, selection of board games and information on local events, activities and attractions.

Pros: Location, Location, location. Perfect for bagging Munroes, we stayed two weeks in the Osprey cottage. Spotless, private, serene, comfortable. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Our host Cameron went above and beyond. We will be back 🇨🇦

Pros: Beautiful place at the foot of Ben More. A steep walk, great but dont do it the first day. We've visited for a week, lots to see and illusterous walks nearby.

Cons: Everything was great! No disapointments.

Amazing cosy stay with a gorgeous Mountain View

Pros: We loved the Mountain View from our lodge, we loved how much there was to walk around and look at on the site. We liked the little visitor centre and the nostalgia of picking DVD’s (as my 7 year old son didn’t have a clue what a DVD was). The games room was fun aswell. We had a perfect few days in the Osprey Lodge and will definitely come back to stay again.

Cons: There was nothing I can complain about our stay at the Osprey Lodge.

Pros: The lodge was clean, fully equipped for comfort living, water pressure was nice and mattress was comfortable as well. The view, wow, stunning and quiet, peaceful. Have spotted red squirrel while having a nice walk in the facility.

Enjoyable break and great base for exploring.

Pros: Lovely location, clean, quiet and very comfortable. A very warm welcome and lots of help from Cameron - a huge thankyou again for unloading the grocery delivery!

Cons: Whilst it was as advertised, I feel for the amount charged the facilities could do with being updated/ upgraded eg rusty fridge, dated washing machine, not much crockery/ small pan sizes for 4 people.

We had a very relaxing holiday. The lodge was very well equipped and clean. You certainly need a car to get around.

Pros: It was a relaxing holiday and the property was well equipped and clean. It was also nice to not be overlooking other lodges.

Cons: Had a few hiccups with the television and because we did not get the email from Cameron about working some of the equipment we figured it out ourselves. The weather was probably the cause of the tv.
